I didn’t get a lot of writing done this year. We moved, bought a house, changed jobs, traveled the world, traveled the west, got a dog, and celebrated family. A few photos just for the photo, a few photos just for the moment and the people. I’m just a damn lucky dude.
Early in the year, we met Luke and Meredith in Jackson, Wyoming. The skiing was mixed, but the company and scenery was unbeatable.

Nate Bender is a mountain mutant who is gracious enough to let me tag along. We snuck up Lil’ St. Joe in April and I can’t wait to get out with him more in 2020. 
Abigail kept talking up the “Don’t Fence Me In” trail run in Helena, so we signed up and ran while visiting her mom for Mother’s Day. The course more than lived up to the hype. 
One of my favorite days of the summer, showing Caroline up Shoshone in Blodgett. It was harder than I remembered and a full value day out. 
Abigail and I celebrated our national independence by going to Canada. Banff National Park showed us amazing trail running, and frequent heavy rainstorms throughout our visit. 
The highlight of our summer was sharing a few days of climbing in the Wind River Range with Devon and Katie. Some of the best partners we could ask for, they bring a strong yet humble stoke to every single minute. 
One more from the Winds: Abigail was in her element and a superlative partner on a longer-than-expected day out. Lucky I am that she is my wifey. 
Michael Hedrick continues to be an incredibly true mentor and friend. We had a healthy walk in the Bitterroot backcountry in August. 
I had no clue how profoundly this little dude would change my regular patterns, and my understanding of living. 
Mid-November finally saw me back to climbing well, enjoying bouldering on an unlikely cold, clear day at Lost Horse. 
I managed to catch the light just before getting on a flight to Seattle. Suddenly saying goodbye gets harder. 
Sharing a few days in Red Rocks and Lime Kiln Canyon, AZ with both Patrick Noonan and Devon Powell was just crazy fun. Making friends with Eric Patak was a true bonus. Patrick is an undercover crusher who I have a lot more to learn from. 
Jasper teaches us joyfulness. 
Social media allows for a lot of bullshit. Thankfully https://mantalks.com/start-here/ doesn’t allow for any. This guy has kept me asking for better from myself, and I’m really grateful.
